This will cover:
 Sewing room safety
 Introduction to the sewing machine
 How to read a pattern and pattern instructions
 Basic sewing skills: How to cut out fabric, how to sew a straight and a curved line, how to
pin fabric, how to safely use an iron, how to follow sewing instructions.

 


What to bring:
 Sewing machine, accessories and manual (optional – sewing machines are available in
class for use)
 Thread
 Scrap fabric (for sewing practice – should be woven fabric, not knit fabric)
 Fabric scissors
 Snips (to trim threads while sewing)
 Quick unpick/unpicker
 Pins
 Tailors’ chalk/fabric marker
 Pen and paper for taking notes
 Project fabric, zip, thread
o 18 cm dress zip (not a metal zip)
o 60 cm main fabric (woven; quilting cotton, canvas or duck)
o 60 cm contrast fabric (woven; quilting cotton, canvas or duck)
o Matching thread

Refund policy

Refund requests must be made in writing to the Co-ordinator.   Prior to the course commencing, a 20% administration cost will be removed from the refund. No refund will be available 24 hours prior to the course starting or once the course has started. A full refund is available should the Coordinator cancel the course.

Credit card payments will be made through Payment Express via a secure, encrypted page using an SSL certificate.
