This course is for Beginners. Learn basic drawing skills using pencils, charcoal and watercolour pencils. Create colourful graphic images with both oil pastels or soft pastel. Paint with Acrylics to portray images using a watercolour glaze technique or use thick Impasto Acrylic paint like oils.

Defensive Driving (October)

Improve your driving skills, steer clear of danger and/or reduce your time on a restricted licence. An additional $60 is required to be paid to a driving instructor for the in car practical. This class is held on 2 Tuesday nights and 2 Thursday nights

FRUIT & VEGETABLE CARVING

JELLY ART CAKES

Learn to make beautiful 3D jelly cakes. These confections are made with jelly and aga powders (which are from seaweeds and vegan-friendly) and inject colorful motifs onto a clear base. These cakes are an awe-inspiring example of when food transcends into edible works of art.

KNITTING: Beginner/IntermediateCreative Relaxation

4 Thursday nights - Starts on 5 August from 7-9pm

Want to knit but think it’s too difficult? It’s not….did you know that all knitted pieces are a combination of just two stitches? In this class, you’ll master the basic knitting techniques - casting on and off, and knit and purl stitches . We’ll also take a look at interpreting knitting patterns, which is often the part of this craft that knitters find most difficult." The first hour will concentrate on beginners and the second hour on intermediate.

Sewing for Beginners (Thursday)

This class is now FULL. There is room in the Tuesday class. This class is for people who are wanting to gain confidence with a sewing machine. And those just starting can work through a project making a shopping bag to introduce them to the sewing machine and sewing techniques.

Learn wood working skills using hand tools and the type of power tools found in the home. Choose your own project at your level of ability and learn skills while completing the project. You provide your own materials. No recycled timber allowed. This class will be held at the Tawa Menz Shed in Davies St Tawa.
