CAMERA DRIVER'S LICENCE

Sick of missing the moment? Not sure what all the different camera settings mean, or how to use them? In this one-day course you'll learn how to set up and effortlessly operate your camera for a variety of different photography styles. Landscapes, portraits, sports, candids, close-ups and more. When you know your way around the camera, you'll be able to spend more time making great pictures, and less time fiddling with all the buttons and menus. Before the course starts, you'll need to tell us the make and model of your camera. Then you'll receive lots of useful tips specifically about your very own camera!

CHEESE MAKING: Halloumi & Ricotta

1 Saturday morning - On 20 March from 9:30am-12:30pm

You make the cheese at this intensely practical DIY 'hands-in' workshops because the key to good cheese making is knowing how the cheese should look and, most importantly, how it should feel at different points in it's creation. During this three hour hands-on workshop, you will be guided through the cheese making process while you make your own Halloumi and Ricotta which you will be able to take home and show off at the end!

GREAT PEOPLE PICTURES:

Boost your people photography skills with a great mix of theory, inspiration, and practice. Bring whatever camera you have (phone, point&shoot, mirrorless, DSLR) and learn about managing both available and artificial light. You will experience studio and location portraiture, as well as discover some great techniques for candid, sports, action, family events, and even street photography.

INDIGO DYEING & SHIBORI

Learn the basics of shibori by folding, clamping, wrapping and sewing fabrics before dyeing them using indigo.

LEARN TO SEW:

1 Saturday - On 27 February from 9am-4pm

Would love to learn to sew but not sure where to start, and a whole term of courses is not for you? Then this one day course has been designed for you. Come and learn how to use a sewing machine (students may bring their own or use a college Bernina). Work on a selected sewing project (a bag) which will teach you essential skills and leave sewing confident all in one day.

OVERLOCKER BASICS/SEWING WITH KNITS

An introduction to the overlocker, develop skills to use this equipment safely and efficiently. Learn how to use the overlocker for seaming knit garments. Prior Sewing experience essential. Some overlockers are available to use during the course or bring your own

SELF DEFENCE: Krav Maga(Age 15+)

1 Saturday afternoon - On 27 February from 12noon -3pm

Krav Maga (contact combat) is a self-defence system developed by the Israeli Defence Force. Its application and efficiency in the real world has been proven to be highly effective by law enforcement agencies, protection services, and the military. The 3 hour session will be at an introductory level and will focus on civilian self defence. Unlike the military or police, the main intent for civilian krav maga is to: Minimise harm to oneself, stop the escalation of conflict by defending in a decisive manner, and also by escaping quickly at the very first opportunity
