If your weight pattern has an emotional driver that is not addressed it will be impossible to maintain any new habits for the long term. Perhaps you eat when lonely or bored, when stressed, or depressed, or when you're angry and can't express it? Maybe in the past you've used weight as an excuse; to limit you, to not engage in relationships, to hide in the background, get out of activities? Maybe you feel ashamed or out of control around food? What habits do you have around food and where did they come from?

CROSS STITCH: BEGINNER

3 Tuesday nights - Starts 15 October from 7-9pm

Have you always wanted to try cross stitch but didn’t know where to start? Then this course is for you. You will learn the basic stitches and how to read a chart, while stitching a small design provided. You will also learn about suitable fabrics, threads and tools both essential and useful. Find out how to prepare your piece before you start, tips while you work, and how to prepare it to get the best result from the picture framer. The tutor will provide guidance in choosing your own project, that you will start in class.

LANDLORDING WITHOUT FEAR: Being a better landlord for you and your tenants

If you own a rental property, chances are you don’t like to ‘bother’ the tenants with inspections, rent increases, maintenance visits etc. Maybe you are not confident about what you can and can’t do. This course will show you how to develop a successful relationship with your tenants that keeps your investment in top shape – financially, physically and legally. We’ll cover all the things you probably didn’t know you need to be doing, and help you get from where you are now to where you want to be. Will include one fieldtrip to a Property Investors Association meeting.

Overcoming Anxiety, Stress & Depression

This course has been CANCELLED. Depression, panic, sleep disorders, overwhelming anger and sadness, anxiety, disorders or addictions, are all symptoms of the mind trying to process information. A refresher workshop for senior road users held at the Emmaus Centre, Tawa Anglican Church. This course has been subsidised by Tawa Lions Club. Staying Safe is a classroom-based refresher workshop for senior road users. The workshop aims to maintain and improve safe driving practices and increase knowledge of transport options available to help senior road users remain mobile.
