Matt loves good photography. Especially photojournalism and documentary photography.
For a couple of decades, he worked as an editorial and corporate photographer in Auckland, Sydney and London. His photography was published in magazines, newspapers, books, annual reports, and other marketing material. Matt moved from inner-city Sydney to leafy Tasmania with his growing family, where he was employed in Mobile Telecommunications and Workplace Training.
Since returning to Aotearoa, in early 2020, he has been busy tutoring a University of Tasmania online course called ‘The Photo Essay’.
Matt continues to make pictures for both personal and professional reasons, some of which can be seen on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/mattmoki/ .

“The best camera is the one that you have with you!” (Chase Jarvis)
These days, for most people, most of the time, that camera will be a smartphone. The photographic capabilities of modern mobile phones are astounding. They can create high-resolution pictures, perform sophisticated image editing, or instantly share the photos online.
