BALINESE MEDITATIVE ANCIENT MUSIC:

Tutor/Facilitator: Vaughan Hatch
8 Tuesday nights - Starts on 15 February from 6-7:30pm

Bali has one of the richest and most varied musical traditions in the world with many different types of bronze, iron and bamboo- keyed instruments and gongs. Now for the first time in Aotearoa you will have an extremely rare opportunity to experience the ancient music of gamelan Selonding: instruments with giant slab iron keys that date back to the 10 th century and produce an ethereal, meditative sound. Your guru will be Vaughan Hatch, gamelan music researcher, ethnomusicologist and founder of Mekar Bhuana Centre
