MORRIS DANCING: 2018

This course will be held at the Tawa Pipe Band Hall by Redwood Station. Come along to enjoy a new form of fitness. Morris Dancing is traditional English Dancing. It has a long history, and has survived periods of repression. The main purpose of the course is to teach the steps and formations of two traditions so that students will be able to perform two dances from each tradition. At the same time, students will learn about the origins and history of Morris Dancing.

Relaxation through Crochet: Beginner Course

Crochet is a great activity that settles your mind and is relaxing too. Crochet and the repetitive movements help the brain make more serotonin, which helps to decrease feelings of depression. Learn to crochet by making little projects (a flower keychain, crochet hearts and granny squares). Learn about different stitches and notations and how to read patterns. Crochet is a great craft to learn, you can make awesome things for yourself or join a community craft group and crochet for a cause!
