If your weight pattern has an emotional driver that is not addressed it will be impossible to maintain any new habits for the long term. Perhaps you eat when lonely or bored, when stressed, or depressed, or when you're angry and can't express it? Maybe in the past you've used weight as an excuse; to limit you, to not engage in relationships, to hide in the background, get out of activities? Maybe you feel ashamed or out of control around food? What habits do you have around food and where did they come from?

CROSS STITCH: BEGINNER

What's wonderful about many crafts is their portability enabling you to carry on creating wherever you are, which increases the ability to raise your spirits. This is especially true of cross stitch. Learn basic stitches while stitching a small design.

Overcoming Anxiety, Stress & Depression

SELF DEFENCE: Krav Maga(Age 15+)

1 Saturday afternoon - On 16 February from 12noon -3pm

Krav Maga (contact combat) is a tactical self-defence system developed by the Israeli Defence Force. Its application and efficiency in the real world setting has been proven to be highly effective. Because of this, it is a self-defence system that is used widely by the military special forces, law enforcement agencies and bodyguards.

STAYING SAFE:

3 Wednesday mornings - Starts on 27 March from 10am-12:30pm

A refresher workshop for senior road users held at the Emmaus Centre, Tawa Anglican Church. This course has been subsidised by Tawa Lions Club. Staying Safe is a classroom-based refresher workshop for senior road users. The workshop aims to maintain and improve safe driving practices and increase knowledge of transport options available to help senior road users remain mobile.

TAWA & ITS BUSH RESERVES:

5 Tuesday nights - Starts on 12 February from 7-9pm

Five evening sessions that cover the Tawa bush reserves, identifying trees and birds present – some history and botany and bird observations. Two of these five sessions will be early evening walks in selected reserves. This course is designed for people who have no previous knowledge of these, but also those who wish to extend their existing knowledge.
