3 Monday nights - Starts 3 September from 7-9pm

This course is for those who have completed the beginner course, or whose skills have progressed beyond the basic steps of births, marriages, and deaths. It is mostly using internet-based resources but we will look at using physical archives and resources, also. It is intended that the course provide practical tuition in using data and setting up paper-based and computer-based family trees. We will look at records from overseas, particularly in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and will touch on genealogical resources in other countries such as Australia, India, Canada, United States of America, and Europe. We will mostly learn about resources that are free to access, but it may be useful to take out free sample subscriptions to commercial sites such as Ancestry and Find My Past. Those with Scottish heritage may choose to purchase credits from Scotland's People.
