Peter Sheppard

Peter Sheppard is one of NZ’s leading fleet safety and driver education specialist. Peter’s work has included (with Waikato University), ground breaking research into adolescent driver’s frontal lobe development and advice to Government and the transport industry on fuel efficient driving and fleet safety management.

Defensive Driving (July)
2 Monday nights & 2 Wednesday nights - Starts on 27 July from 6:30-8:30pm

Improve your driving skills, steer clear of danger and/or reduce your time on a restricted licence. An additional $60 is required to be paid to a driving instructor for the in car practical. This class is held on 2 Monday nights and 2 Wednesday nights

Defensive Driving (September)
2 weeks Monday and Wednesday - Starts on 7 September from 6:30-8:30pm

Improve your driving skills, steer clear of danger and/or reduce your time on a restricted licence. This covers the theory part of the course only. An additional $60 is required to be paid to a driving instructor for the in car practical. On Monday and Wednesday nights for 2 weeks.

Defensive Driving for Experienced Drivers (August)
1 Saturday morning - On 1 August from 9am-1pm

AA Driving School has developed a classroom training program for licensed drivers who want to update their driving skills and knowledge. The course teaches positive driving behaviours and a responsible philosophy towards ourselves and other road users.

Parents As Driving Coaches
1 Thursday night - On 3 September from 7-9pm

Development of the adolescent brain is critical when it comes to learning to drive. International research confirms parents can play a significant role in shaping and influencing the executive functions required of adolescents when learning to drive a motor vehicle. This two hour session provides tips on the learning to drive process and driving techniques to ensure their family members commence on a path of lifelong safe driving.
