FLORA & FAUNA OF OUR LOCAL NATIVE BUSH RESERVES:
6 sessions (3 walks) - Starts on 9 February 7-9pm

The course will include some history of the bush reserves, the origin of their names, how to identify the major native tree species, plus information on studies undertaken in bird surveys, lizard surveys and pest control in the reserves. Three of the sessions will be practical, involving guided walks in different reserves to provide opportunities to identify flora (including the huge tawa and matai trees) and the fauna, as discussed in the classroom presentations.
