Class 1 starts 8 February from 7-9pm
Class 2 starts 10 May from 7-9pm
Class 3 starts 2 August from 7-9pm
Class 4 starts 18 October from 7-9pm
Childbirth education classes for pregnant mothers, fathers and support people. Course covers topics such as nutrition, pregnancy care, layette, labour, pain relief, normal to Caesarean Birth, breast-feeding, bathing and baby CPR. There are 6 Monday evenings followed later by a postnatal course of 2 mornings. Please phone for further details.

Week 1 Bathing & Cot making, SIDS, Pelvic Awareness, Nappy options
Week 2 Caesarean & other intervention, What to take to hospital and when to go, Birth video, Positions for Labour
Week 3 Stages of Labour, Role of support person, Pain relief - Natural & medical, Breathing techniques for labour
Week 4 Hospital stay, Newborn Appearance, Postnatal care, The changing woman’s body, Support groups, Plunket speaker, Comforting a new baby & mum (emotions), Massage, Casesaean video, plus more
Week 5 First Aid Specialists CPR, Feeding baby
Week 6 Visiting couples tell of their experiences, Shared supper & evaluations
